Looking to compost, start a college greenhouse, buy more local products
Rural area, so distribution is a problem as well as the higher cost of local products
Successes and achievements:
Food based comman theme for the academic year. VISTA member here this year working on these issues as well as community improvement of coupons for farmer's markets and distribution of local products.
We got the campus food service to purchase $2378 of local produce last semester and hope to add to that figure as much as we can.
We showed Food Inc, Fresh and will have a panel discussion in Feb on local food sourcing.
In March we will have a presentation on Junk Food.

comments: We are hoping to add service learning at the greenhouse we hope to start using to grow food for our food services. Many professors are requiring attendance at our Food for Thought series of films and speakers.
