Needs and challenges:
More student involvement in front-of-house composting and overall education and out-reach, removing vending machines, staff and administration being receptive to students regarding vending/concessions, increased collaboration between various schools (undergrad/grad, medical/dental/nutrition, etc)
Successes and achievements:
More than 60% solid waste is diverted from the waste stream through composting and recycling. Over 15% of produce purchased in FY09 came from local sources (Northeast).
